Hey, everyone! Bill here to let you in a few things happening here at Alban Lake. We’re working on new ways to get authors out there into the public eye as well as catching up on submissions, getting ready to print new periodicals, and getting ready for our first big convention of the year. So, let’s dig in.
We’ll start with CoreCon. We’re putting finishing touches on all the things we’ll need for the trip and have loaded up a huge number of books. We’re pretty excited as it’s going to be our first time there and sort of our official first “We’re Alban Lake” convention. While we’ve represented before, now Karen and I are becoming the actual face and heads of Alban Lake. One of the things we’re going to try are build your own book boxes/bags. We have little bits of candy and knickknacks and some special prices for people to get discounts on what books they put into their bag or box, as well as a special price on one of our nifty tote bags.
The details are in the works, but Karen is going to have the prices ready when we get to CoreCon.
Next, I have officially been made editor of Disturbed Digest. Tyree is going to send me the submissions he’s already picked for his final Disturbed issue, and I’ll add what I have chosen to make it, then I’m on my own. I’m really excited and I’m still tearing through submissions to get to the absolute best of the best to put in one of my favorite periodicals.
Finally, our next convention will be very soon as well. Wizard World in Des Moines is just about two weeks away. It’s going to be one of the biggest conventions we get to attend this year and we’re really really excited that we get to go. We’re also really happy to thank all of you for allowing us to go. Without the sales revenue you give us, we couldn’t have been able to afford the fee and we’re going to sell, sell, sell while we’re there. Karen has rigged up some Aspiring Author Boxes and if they sell well, she’ll put them up on the Infinite Realms Creatjoy for other aspiring authors to enjoy.
So, all in all, we’re really busy and happy here at the Lake. Things are going well and it’s thanks to not only our own hard work, but the hard work of independent authors, and great readers alike. We couldn’t do it without you, and we love being able to read some of the very finest fantasy, horror, and sci-fi out there, as well as to be able to spread it for all the public to enjoy. You guys rock, and we thank you for your support and look forward to bigger things in the future.
